Until death due us (a)part

Last night I had a dream
At least I think it was
Where we just laid and died
Beneath the summer sun

Wasted and drunk again
You tried to take my hand
But due to the decomposing
My skin just turned to sand

I’ll never know the feeling
Of your skin or the degree
At which your body dies
With secrets we chose to keep

What I’d do to sleep forever
Sleep forever in the dirt
In the dirt beside you
Beside you
